Responsibilities

Based in Melbourne office and reporting to the National Pre Sales Manager, we are seeking a Solution Architect who is responsible for the development of data centre, data protection and cloud technology solutions to deliver the required business outcomes for Logicalis' customers that are low risk, high value for money and within Logicalis' capability to deliver.

 

As a Solution Architect, the key responsibilities of this role include:

 

1. Follows and applies Logicalis' values and core competencies

  • Behaves in a manner that is consistent with Logicalis values and values based behaviours.
  • Effectively demonstrates our Core Competencies in fulfilment of their role.

2. Solution Stream Sales Processes

  • Actively participates and assists in the preparation and presentation of tender responses and proposals.
  • Recognises ways to shape current customers' needs to new products.
  • Analysis of customer business needs and sale of the solution involving:
    • Consults with customers to understand their business proceses and needs from a technology solution.
    • Understnds customer's needs and definitions of success from the solution.
    • With BDM or Account Manager presents and sells in proposed solution to the customer.
    • Ensures scope of solution and any limitations are explained, agreed and signed off by customer.

3. Solution Stream Delivery Processes

  • Defines and designs Technology solutions:
    • Researches and develops solution design.
    • Works collaboratively with Technology Engineers and Project Managers to specify and design the solution in detail.
    • Prepares costings, prosposals, quotes, reports, specification and other documentation for the design and/or acceptance of the design.
  • Ensuring the solution sold is progressing through delivery phases in line with the customer's expectations:
    • Regularly monitor progress of the building of the solution by Delivery Services.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Technology Engineers, Project Manager and Customer.
    • Ensure solution being built meets original design and business needs of the customer.

4. Market Understanding and Offerings

  • Supports solution stream maturity and growth.  This includes:
    • Survey market landscape for solution insights, direction, vendors, and methods.
    • Awareness of competitor and vendor solutions.
    • Product development, supported with a business case, in line with Logicalis strategic objectives.

5. Financial Accountability

  • Solution profitability and Professional Services sales.  This includes:
    • Understanding the factors that determine commercial viability of new opportunities.
    • Collaborating with Technical Engineers to ensure projects are delivered to contract requirements.
    • Monitoring of key performance and financial indicators.

6. Vendor Relationships

  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships for the solution stream.  Including:
    • Selection of strategic vendor partnership with common goals to enhance Logicalis differentiation.
    • Develop strong partnerships with current vendors.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you possess the following attributes:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science / information technology, or higher qualifications; and/or 5-10 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
  • Relevant industry certifications with EMC, NetApp, CommVault, Cisco.
  • Experience working with an integration business similar to Logicalis.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Exposure and understanding of sales and customer service processes.
  • Business analysis skills.
  • Ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to executive staff, customers, business partners, and technical resources in clear concise language that is the appropriate for each group.
  • Willingness to travel.
